AN URGENT NEED FOR REPAIR
Recently, in a YouTube video, an African American, Dr.George C. Fraser, cited a study that if nothing changes, it will take African Americans 228 years, if ever, to close the wealth gap between black and white Americans, but it will take Hispanics 89 years to close that gap!
Dr Fraser said studies have shown that black people will not have money in a market economy in a democratic capitalist society and that we are making our way to a second slavery, if we do not act to do so. remedy. The video was short and did not give detailed reasons why this conclusion was drawn, nor did it name the study! Fraser said black people need their kicks and our ancestors and ancestors need to turn around in their graves. The question remains, however: is he right?
When we talk about a market economy, we are talking about the means of achieving economic self-sufficiency. It is no secret that the United States has been able to overtake a number of other countries in accumulating wealth because it has had free labor for over 240 years.
In addition, they stole or took land from the indigenous population, which gave them a distinct advantage in real estate. After all, if you don’t pay for the land and have free labor to work it, you have a very, VERY big advantage over the others who haven’t used this strategy to acquire land. richness. White Americans, settlers and intruders, have been able to reach great economic heights due to nefarious practices.
On top of that, in their looting and plundering activities, they enacted as many obstacles as possible to prevent others from playing on the economic field they created. They took the land from the Native Americans and stuck them in little corners of the country called reservations. They kept their slave population disabled, and the miraculous and precious few were able to acquire minimal wealth, but the vast majority were hopelessly locked out.
So when we examine the differences between the projected wealth accumulation between blacks and Hispanics, it becomes perfectly clear that black communities were much more disadvantaged compared to their Latin counterparts. American movable slavery was a particularly cruel institution that sought to deprive blacks of their humanity. This conditioning had an impact which is observable to this day.
The black community has been subjected to psychological warfare and has been fed a constant regime of white supremacist dogma that continues to thwart black progress. We have to remember that in some arenas, blacks were seen as 3/5 of a person, and truth be told, some white supremacists still view the community as almost quasi-human, which gives them the justification for treating them. Black the way they do.
This situation is not, however, entirely pessimistic.
The reality of life is that resistance makes us stronger; diamonds are created under pressure. When we exercise, it is resistance that makes our muscles grow. The oppression that the black community has endured creates black human “diamonds” which are realized at all levels of society.
Of course, there are the laggards, those who unfortunately couldn’t get out of the prison mindset of self-hatred and, as a result, retreat into the community like destructive human viruses that seem determined. to kill and maim black people. They get a lot of attention. But that’s only half the story.
We must not lose sight of the fact that black people succeed despite extreme oppression. We have accomplished miraculous feats even as we endured enormous obstacles. It’s almost magical. If we can accomplish what we have with the obstacles we have faced, just think about what we could do if we were compensated for all these years of free labor and abuse!
In fact, this is what it takes: Black people need repairs, and it should come in the form of REPAIRS! If we push for this on a unified front, Dr. Fraser’s prediction of sorrow and sorrow will go up in smoke! A Luta Continua.
