Drupal is a popular free open-source content management system. The first part of the presentation will be a general introduction to Drupal, its advantages and disadvantages -- all in the context of open source software.
In the second part, we'll look more in detail at Drupal, examining some of its unique features and how these features can help solve typical library content management needs.

First, thanks for posting! I'm kind of tailoring this for the librarians in the house. I'm doing it because I really think libraries out there in the state of Illinois ought to be considering Drupal as the CMS de Choix when trying to figure out how to power their sites.
Anyway, this'll be a sort of introductory primer to the thing.
I'll go through the basics -- Drupal, OSS, Core, Modules, etc. -- gradually working to an in-depth examination of CCK & Views. In fact, the last half of the talk will be a demo showing people how to set up subject database listings using CCK & Views.
