XML import for 6.x?

My specs require data export-import in XML.
I found views_datasource for export (which I haven't completely checked out yet), but was surprised not to find anything for import.
Anybody got anything on importing via XML?

It's not taxonomies I need,

It's not taxonomies I need, it's nodes/datasets . . .
"Feed System" is a maybe -- I have to see what it calls a "feed" and how it gets it. At least "You can map any element in a feed to:
* Any field on a node you build your own mapper for"
