Kelly Ripa in Ann Arbor supporting the U of M Wrestling Championship

Kelly Ripa was in full sports mom mode at the Big House last weekend. Wearing blue and corn, the talk show host beamed with pride for a really cool reason.

Ripa with her husband Mark Consuelos when they were on hand to celebrate their youngest son Joaquin with the rest of the college wrestling team’s 2022 Big Ten Championship. The team was honored at last Saturday’s Michigan the Big House football game against Penn State. The team received their championship rings in front of a packed “hall” as fans and parents watched.

Ripa and Consuelos, who have become fixtures in and around Ann Arbor since their son started school there, took to social media to share photos from the big day. Consuelos shared a photo on her Instagram Story with the caption “Big10Champs” with the biggest proud dad smile.

Michigan Wrestling shared photos of the team and families celebrating the special moment and captured a photo of Ripa being a typical mom taking a photo of her son on stage showing him his ring.

Ripa and Consuelos, who are also parents to son Michael, 25, and daughter Lola, 21, were quick to brag about their son’s Michigan accomplishments and how much they love being athletic parents, even though everything college is new to them.

“We’re such great parents of wrestlers that we just say what the parents sitting next to us say,” Ripa said on her show in February. Consuelos agreed with his wife’s statement, saying, “We don’t know anything!”

Kudos to the entire University of Michigan wrestling team!
