T&A Distributions, based in Chicago, Illinois, serves a large retail footprint in the US Midwest with stores, such as Plaza Health, Core Supplements, Health Kick, and Fitness Formula Clubs, to name a few- one. The company recently announced that it has begun taking orders from United Natural Foods Incorporated (UNFI), a $20 billion publicly traded company that supplies stores such as Whole Foods®, with which GenTech’s Nature Soothie® already sells, as well as Giant Eagle®, Wegman’s®, Raley’s®, Safeway®, Vitacost® and Harmony’s®.

In 2021, the company engaged Vitacost and the Kroger® digital team to bring the product to its customer base as well. While a much longer sales cycle, with substantial orders, large retailers are a crucial part of Fizzique’s revenue model. Small distributors, however, are essential to the sales and market acceptance of the Fizzique product and are nurtured by GenTech, because of their vital role.

Kroger acquired Vitacost in 2014 for $280 million in a deal that provided the grocery giant with new exposure to e-commerce and the growing market for organic products, supplements and functional foods. Vitacost’s annual sales have already increased by more than 180% since the acquisition.
